Our First Lady

Minister Kim Y. Trice is the adored wife of Dr. Robert W. Trice, Jr., Senior Pastor of the Abyssinia Baptist Church of Capital Heights, MD. The couple married in 1990, and has worked together for over 25 years in ministry. When Kim is not serving in ministry, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Kim is a quiet and humble servant leader who is passionate about helping others come to know who they are in Christ and witnessing the transforming work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of true believers.

Kim, a native of Boston, Massachusetts, grew up in Orange County, Virginia. It was there she had a personal encounter with Christ and accepted Him as Lord and Savior at the age of 10.

Kim has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Averett University Danville, VA and a Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Counseling, from Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA.

Kim currently serves as the Youth Minister and lead Instructor for the New Members class. She is also the coordinator for Young Ladies Obtaining Virtue, Love, and Excellence (YLOVE), a ministry that focuses on training "young ladies" ages 8-18 in Christian behavior and age appropriate life skills. Kim was licensed to the Gospel Ministry in April 2015 with a focus on Evangelism. She is currently seeking the Lord's direction in the ministerial area of Chaplaincy.

She has previously served in positions of Intercessory Prayer Team leader, Sunday school teacher, and a community volunteer for the YWCA, Junior Achievement and Big Brothers and Big Sisters organizations. Whichever circle she finds herself, Kim is always lifting her voice to share the Good News with those she encounter, whether it be to encourage the Saints or evangelize the Seeking.
